We live in an age when logic has failed
and our days come with the darkness of night
leaving all of our plans and dreams derailed.
We imagined a world, fully detailed
to leave our children, that was their birthright.
We live in an age when logic has failed
and the battles we fought, the mountains scaled
have crumbled to dust, faded from sight
leaving all of our plans and dreams derailed.
Yet they carry on, your hopes are just veiled
they say, we see them still well worth the fight.
We live in an age when logic has failed
and those on whom we counted have bailed
or paid lip service to us all despite
leaving all of our plans and dreams derailed.
We fashion a new future, ideas nailed
together, we pray sufficiently tight.
We live in an age when logic has failed
leaving all of our plans and dreams derailed.
