RINZAI’S TRUE MAN

If I ask you
who you are, how
will you answer?
If you give me your name,
that is not the answer
for your name is a word
and you are not a word.
If you tell me what
you have done, that
is not the answer,
for those are actions.
If you sit silently
on the cushion
that is the answer.
