I read my poem
to a child who said
“It is another world,
one I would like to visit.”
I asked him to draw
a picture of it.
He huddled over the paper
furiously drawing
a stick-like figure
with a large head
of what looked like a man.
I asked him what it was
and he said, “it is a poem”.
I said that it looked
like a man and he
smiled and said, “because
the poem lives in your head
and I drew its home.”

A NOTE TO MY SUBSCRIBERS/READERS

I began this daily blog on March 26, 2016. Since that date I have made over 3,300 posts (trying very hard not to be repetitive). With a new collection of poetry and short prose from Plain View Press entitled “Free of the Shadow,” now released, I will be dialing back this blog beginning on April 15 (I know, taxing myself less on Tax day seems a bit ironic) to three posts per week. The format will remain the same.
