
You may ask a teacher
if a truly enlightened one
is subject to cause and effect.
If the teacher says no
he is a fox leading you astray
but if he says yes, he is
a bear deep in hibernation.
The wise teacher will
remain silent knowing
that cause and effect
exist simultaneously
and his silence is
a lesson you need to learn.
