This will be a fraught year when
only questions will abound
and answers will seek shelter
away from our endless dissection.
But one question will be answered
and our fate may well hang in the balance,
for this is yet another year
where we determine whether
the truths are truly self-evident.
For soon enough we will have
a new government, whether it is
a replay of the present or the immediately
former remains to be seen, but
the question unanswered is
of which people this new government
will be of, be by and be for.
And we must be ever vigilant
for endowments can all too easily
be seized or frittered away.
