PRISONER (Trigger Warning: effects of abortion laws)

I can see the young girl stuck
in their world, her uterus
swollen by the unbridled
lust of the rapist, or
her father or uncle.
She is a prisoner of her
uterus, under the ever
watchful eye of the state
and she wants only the freedom
their law now denies her.
I see this world and tremble
knowing we all are but
a ballot from its realization
and the world it will unleash
is one I will be glad
to one day leave.

    😦

    Sad and still true.

Truly so. I loved your poems in the latest release oh TheAmazine. Simply beautiful, of course.
