You realize, of course, that it was
an arbitrary and capricious decision
no matter what you say, making up the rules
as you go, changing them without
consulting those of us who are to be
most affected by the changes. Sure
my brothers and sisters probably agreed,
more for them with me out of the picture,
but don’t give me the lecture on fairness.
And language, seriously, with all of the words
at your command, so many to choose among,
you had to go with one of the two most
offensive, calling me a dwarf just because
I am somewhat smaller than the others.
I suppose I can find solace you didn’t call me
a midget planet, but now I am just
nothing more than a step-planet, a half
sibling of the others and I can assure you
the god for whom I am named has taken note
so when you visit his world, watch out.
