The nurse wanted to know
if I had pain with standing.
I thought about this and said
“Notwithstanding a silly question
if I say so myself and I do.”
“No,” she said smiling, “withstanding
your answer do you or do you not?”

‘I don’t have pain, not with standing.
Notwithstanding what she
wanted to know so she said,
” let’s try this again.
Do you have pain while standing?”
I do have pain while standing”
and I knew where she was going
and added “notwithstanding anything.”
