NOTE: My new book is here at last. My latest collection of poetry and short stories has just been published by Plain View Press. Since you have been following and reading my work if you would like more information about Free of the Shadow, just click here for a special offer.

The echo of love
may have a longer decay
than the moment giving it birth.
Ever fainter by desire or spite,
it remains limpet-like, grasping
as if the inexorable fading
can be stilled by arising memories.
Once the bonds are broken
it can remain an artifact, a moment
valued in itself even
when the source is no longer
present or wanted, for it
remains woven deeply into
the present capacity
to love again, to love fully
to emerge from the shadows.
A NOTE TO MY SUBSCRIBERS/READERS
I began this daily blog on March 26, 2016. Since that date I have made over 3,300 posts (trying very hard not to be repetitive). With a new collection of poetry and short prose from Plain View Press entitled “Free of the Shadow,” now released, I will be dialing back this blog beginning on April 15 (I know, taxing myself less on Tax day seems a bit ironic) to three posts per week. The format will remain the same.
