I am not a person who hates
too many things, and fewer people.
I say that in my own defense, for
you have asked me to list my hates,
and no one, anywhere, save perhaps
the Dalai Lama, is free of hate.
so here goes my short list.
I hate polluters and those who care
not at all for the world in which
we now live, the world we are destroying.
I hate the greed that has so often led
to wars, where we sacrifice the next
generation to appease our own.
I hate semi-automatic weapons
in private ownership, we have far
too many guns already, and it is
ever harder to count the lives
our need for masculinity has taken.
Oh, and did I mention, I truly detest
and want nothing to do with Brussels Sprouts.
