It was a lesson that took him
far too long to learn,
was one he needed for years.
He couldn’t remember all the times
that he had set out to accomplish something
yet that day was given over to Murphy
or the corollary of his famous law,
for he almost never accomplished
what he had set out to do.
But the lesson was deeply buried
and he had missed it countless times.
It was so simple, really, for if things
never went according to plan
all he needed to do was
to simply plan on accomplishing

insured that one or maybe more things
