We save the height of absurdity for the naming of countries, although we do practice the absurd in naming cities and places. Except in the zoo no one has seen a Buffalo in Western New York. And there is nothing at all humorous about Yeehaw Junction Florida. But we save the best for countries. Why else would the longest reigning monarch in the United Kingdom be a Queen. And all of the People’s Republics, especially the Democratic ones, are led by despots who want nothing to do with democracy. And of course there is the United States. Tell that to Florida, Texas and New York and California. And just where was Old Zealand anyway?
