STANDING AROUND

They said they would take a stand. They meant to take a stand but they never quite got around to taking a stand. That was the problem with taking a stand, you had to act, you had to stand. So much time passed they forgot they had said they would take a stand. Then they sat around wondering after all the time that passed how they could take a stand. They finally agreed it was better to decide not to take a stand after all. But, they worried, if they agreed not to take a stand was that taking a stand of sorts? Where was Epimenides when you really needed him.
