ME AND MY . . .

I didn’t stop
to think it at all odd
that when I walked backward
this morning my shadow
decided to walk ahead of me.
I was going to ask him why
he decided to lead, but
as I turned to walk back
to the car he fell in
silently behind me
and refused to answer
as the clouds came over us
and he slipped away again.

One response to “ME AND MY . . .”
